After taking a long hiatus, and due to the amount of requests, we’re re-launching SMLUNCH. Stay tuned for a few lunch dates coming soon.

Information: The SMLunch theory is that you should never eat lunch alone. Why? Well, you just never know what things you can do or discuss that can change the world during lunch. This theory combined with a Tweet that @JJtweets, @CityofRenton, @SeattleBlank and @BMW shared in November 2009 is how SMLunch started.

In January 2010, about 30 of us met up at Five Guys in Renton for a social networking lunch. In March 2010, about 30 of us met up at Seastar at 2200 Westlake in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood. In June 2010, about 75 of us met up at the Fairmont Olympic’s Georgian restaurant. In November 2010, about 75 of us met up at the Coho Cafe in Issaquah. In February 2011, about 100 met up at Rays as well as Mistral Kitchen. And March, about 40 of us met up at Flying Fish. And now we’re heading across the Sound for one of the best scheduled SMLunch’s yet!

There is no formal program. It is straight up personal with a ton of networking opportunities! During the lunch, we call out a couple people for some free plugs and networking – other than that we want you to network.

For this luncheon, Salty’s is preparing a fabulous three-course meal. Your choice of a starter (Seafood Chowder or Heirloom Tomato Gazpacho), an entree (Fish Tacos, Blackened Salmon Caesar Salad or a Bacon Cheesburger), and dessert (Cupcakes) and a soft drink beverage. The price includes tax and gratuity.

The cost to attend is $15.00 per person — it includes lunch, tax, gratuity and service fees. (FYI for those who have read this far – there is a good chance that this lunch will be sponsored by a company named Microsoft. 🙂 Your treat for reading everything. See you there!)

This lunch is reserved to the first 100 people to RSVP. Confirm now. Reserve your space early. Register at http://www.twtvite.com/smlunch8.

And… for those… who keep reading… confirming (as of July 29, 2011): Microsoft Cloud Services and the newly launched Office 365 is excited to sponsor #SMLunch for August. Maggie Chan-Jones (@maggieCJ), Director, Cloud Services & Office 365 and Matthew Tennant (@matthewtennant) will be joining to share everything new and exciting for Microsoft Cloud Services.

We’re set. The next social media lunch is scheduled. Join us. Want to network with 40 people in your community with little effort? Just bring business cards… we’ll help you do the rest.

Purchase your tickets in advance to reserve your space. Click this widget below for more info:

Due to the large waiting list and additional requests, we’re hosting one more Social Media Lunch in Seattle on Monday, February 28. Lunch may be sponsored but you will not know unless you RSVP and attend. For more information or to RSVP click here.

The next Social Media Lunch has been scheduled and is set to occur at Ray’s Boathouse in Ballard. For information and/or to RSVP, click here.

We’re confirming details but it looks like we’ll be at Ray’s Boathouse for lunch on February 22, 2011 at 12 pm. If anyone is interested in sponsoring the next lunch, please email seattleblank at aol dot com. Thank you to Swedish for sponsoring the Issaquah lunch. Stay tuned for more details.

My theory is that you should never eat lunch alone. Why? Well, you just never know what things you can do or discuss that can change the world during lunch. This theory combined with a Tweet that @JJtweets, @CityofRenton and @BMW shared with me (@SeattleBlank) last November is how SMLunch.com started. In January 2010, about 30 of us met up at Five Guys in Renton for a social networking lunch. In March, about 30 of us met up at Seastar at 2200 Westlake in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood. In June, about 75 of us met up at the Fairmont Olympic’s Georgian. And now we’re heading east for the first ever SMLunch Tweetup in Issaquah featuring @Swedish.

There is no formal program. It is straight up personal with a ton of networking opportunities! Register.

This time around we have partners –@TheCohoCafe, href=”http://www.twitter.com/molr1″>@Molr1, @Swedish and the Sammamish Chamber of Commerce. Why Issaquah? Well @Swedish is opening a new Medical Office Building and hospital there. Swedish wants to tell you more about it. Plus @Molr1 and @TheCohoCafe are rock star Tweeters.

The Coho Cafe is preparing a nice $15 pre-fixe lunch for us Tweeters that will include a Non-Alcoholic refillable beverage of choice as well as some special Social Media type touches – stay tuned. There is a REAL good chance your lunch will be on one of our partners! But you will not know unless you come! First 60 people to RSVP here will be listed as guests. RSVP now.

What time is this Social Media Lunch?
It starts at 12 pm.

Full disclosure: The organizer of SMLunch.com provides consulting services to Swedish.

My theory is that you should never eat lunch alone. This theory combined with a tweet that @JJtweets, @CityofRenton and @BMW shared with me last November is how SMLunch.com started. In January about 30 of us met up at Five Guys in Renton for a social networking lunch. The next social media lunch meetup is now scheduled.

This time around we’re scaling up! We’re going to meet at Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar in Seattle (South Lake Union to be exact). Address is 2121 Terry Avenue, Suite 108, Seattle 98121 and phone number is (206) 462-4364. You can take the Seattle Streetcar from Westlake Center or park in the 2200 Westlake garage – Seastar provides 90 minutes of free parking with validation only. Meet at 12 pm on Thursday, March 25th.

What is this? Well, it is a way that us Tweeters can get together without any attachment. There are no speakers — no programs — no tickets — no charge — it is strictly networking at a great restaurant. A place for us to meet, share connections and enjoy lunch.
And for those who attended the first SMLunch, we chose Seastar because they are supporting the event this time around! They are staffing up and offering some specials: free cup of soup or ½ size salad with purchase of entrée. The kicker is that they are offering up a FREE $15 comp card to every Tweeter (limit 100) before leaving. Comp cards are (no purchase necessary!!!) free soup, salad, appetizer or dessert up to $15 for your next visit. So come, meet up, meet fellow Tweeters and get a free $15 comp card for your next visit. Hope to see you there!

If you are in, send me a Tweet @SeattleBlank to hold your spot. I’ll list Tweeter RSVPs below.

And for those that come, please remember that Twestival at Emerald City Trapeze in Seattle is Thursday evening.

How this started? In November I responded to a tweet about Five Guys in Renton, Wash. Several minutes later, @JJTweets & @BMW responded saying they love Five Guys. A minute later, @CityofRenton responded and suggested he’d meet us for lunch. The power of Social Media Lunch was discovered. Everyone eats lunch. Someone once told me to never eat lunch alone. Lunch is a time to network and meet others. And here we are. The first Social Media Lunch is scheduled for Friday, January 22 at Five Guys in Renton. Meet at noon at the fireplace outside the movie theater (adjacent to Five Guys). Other confirmed attendees include: @JessEstrada, @LukeDoyle@sarahhaeger, @DrewSymonds. If you are in, send me a Tweet @SeattleBlank. Also I just invited @PeteCarroll of @SeahawksSpin – hope he can join us. 🙂 If he does, you can win @CityofRenton’s prize #PeteInRenton
